I agree - my blender just broke. We should have a "hey we made it a dozen years" shower
I think if you make it to 40 and are still single you should get to register and have a big party! I've given a lot of salad spinners in my day and never received one!
I think single people should be able to register for stuff too!

I came home today to a brand new salad spinner. What a good choice I made 12 years ago.
I have wedding presents stacked on shelves and the wife is no where to be found. 3 blenders, a wide variety of serving dishes, wine glasses...I eat PB&J nightly with a fine diet coke.
